Judd Hesselroth is an anti-bribery, governance, risk, compliance, and internal audit program leader with depth international business experience from working in more than 20 countries for large, multi-national corporations.
In his current role in Microsoft, he works as a governance, risk, and control re-engineer primarily responsible for 1) driving Microsoft’s implementation of ISO 37001 and 2) developing an improved issue governance and remediation program for the Company. He has also been actively involved in the development of the recently published ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System Standard and ISO 17021-9 Conformity Assessment Technical Specification, having served as the Chair of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO Project Committee 278 since January 2014. Judd was awarded the ANSI Meritorious Service Award in October 2016 in recognition of his contributions to the ANSI Federation and the voluntary standards community.
Judd holds the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) professional certifications, and is a member of the ACAMS, SCCE, IIA, ISACA, and ACFE professional organizations.
Judd joined Microsoft in 2001 where he had the opportunity to conduct and oversee hundreds of financial, operational, IT and compliance audits across Microsoft and in more than 20 countries as a member of Internal Audit. Judd opened Microsoft’s first international Internal Audit office in 2007 in Singapore, where his team was responsible for developing and executing the annual audit plan for Japan, Greater China, India, and Asia Pacific regions. Additionally, while in Singapore, Judd served two terms as the Honorary Secretary of the Board of Directors for the Singapore Chapter of ISACA. He returned to Microsoft headquarters in June 2010 to join the Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) department to establish and ultimately lead the Microsoft Anti-Corruption Program Management Office (MSACPMO) within the Office of Legal Compliance.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Judd graduated from a General Electric Management Development Program and worked in a variety of Finance, Operations, IT, and Six Sigma Quality roles across the U.S. and in Japan. Judd started his Internal Audit career shortly thereafter when he joined the Internal Audit Services group at Sprint Telecommunications.
Judd earned an MBA with concentrations in International Business and Marketing, and a BA in East Asian Languages and Cultures from the University of Kansas, and speaks Japanese. Judd is also a United States Marine, honorably discharged in 1997.
