Fernanda has 14 years of legal experience, and started at Cummins in July 2015 as Director, Ethics and Compliance – Latin America, after having worked for more than 6 years for the third-largest aircraft manufacturer, Embraer SA. Fernanda’s work as a Senior Legal Counsel for Embraer included negotiation of high-value contracts with clients, as well as legal support for Embraer’s global customer support and aircraft leasing and financing business, and commercial aircraft repossession worldwide. This past work experience exposed Fernanda to a broad array of foreign countries, cultural aspects and several subjects related to compliance, such as export control and anti-bribery regulations and enforcement, interaction with government officials and state-owned entities, conflicts of interest, creation of worldwide sales agents policies, and creation of the content and provision of global and/or customized training to Embraer’s employees and third parties on these important matters.
In her legal role for the Cummins’ Legal Department, she uses her extensive experience, her negotiation and language skills, her business acumen and legal knowledge in U.S. and other foreign jurisdictions’ laws as a cross-border transactions and commercial agreements attorney to support Cummins’ Power Systems business unit.
Last December, Fernanda was also selected as one of the 2016 Ethisphere’s “Attorneys Who Matter”.
